Allan Bosley, 

Public Affairs Director, Ark Data Centres

Following a career that spanned communications development and management, project and change communications for companies such as the MoD and BBC and interactive media, I joined Ark Data Centres in 2009. The company had by that time acquired a 35 acre ex-MoD site in Wiltshire, the first 800kW module going live a year later. 

Today,  Ark has fully built out that site and another comparable site in Farnborough, plus another 5 sites across the South of England either being occupied or under development.

This on the strength of world class energy efficient and water efficient designs, a commitment to highly secure, resilient architecture and agile, industrialised deployment.

Beginning with early market research, bid management and management information responsibilities, and after a two-year spell as Head of Culture I am now Ark’s Director Public Affairs. I also presently Chair the Data Centre Council of techUK. 

Dame Dawn Childs,

CEO, Pure Data Centres Group

Dawn is the CEO of Pure Data Centres Group building and operating hyperscale data centres. Before joining Pure she led a multi- billion transformation programme for National Grid across both the gas and electricity transmission businesses. 

This followed several senior engineering appointments as: the Group Engineering Director for Merlin Entertainments with responsibility for engineering delivery and standards across the worldwide portfolio of theme parks; and the Head of Engineering at Gatwick Airport. She joined Gatwick after 23 years as an Engineering Officer in the Royal Air Force.  

She is a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Chairs the Audit & Risk Committee and a Trustee of the Air League. She was the longest serving President of the Women’s Engineering Society, turning it around over a 5 year tenure, and is currently the Chair of the iMasons Inclusion Committee.  

She was honoured with a Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering in October 2020 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the engineering profession and was appointed a Dame Commander of the British Empire (DBE) for services to engineering in the King’s New Years Honours 2023. 

Venessa Moffat,

Executive Director, Data Centre Alliance

With 20 years’ experience in the Data Centre and tech industries, Venessa has focused on innovative technology solutions for sustainable growth.

Venessa holds a BSc in Computer Science, a Post Grad Diploma in Business Administration, as well as an MBA from Essex University, where she specialised in agile IT architectures for maximum business value.

She has successfully led strategy development and implementation programmes in multiple international organisations.  Venessa is also on the Executive Board for the Data Centre Alliance, and an Executive Director at Colchester Commercial Holdings Ltd. 

Spencer Lamb,

MD & Chief Commercial Officer, Kao Data

Spencer Lamb is Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Kao Data and alongside David Bloom head’s up the senior management team.

Having held previous leadership positions at data centre companies – Infinity SDC and Verne Global, Spencer brings over 25 years of experience in data centre colocation, artificial intelligence (AI), high performance computing (HPC), hyperscale cloud and telecommunications to the business.

Across his career, Spencer has focused within the start-up and scale-up stages of international data centre organisations and pioneered the UK’s first colocation public sector framework - deploying multiple AI/HPC installations for high intensity research applications.

Most recently at Kao Data he has played a pivotal role in growing the company into a multisite portfolio, helping it become the UK leader for AI & advanced computing, and championing the sustainability and ESG focus of the business.
